Las Vegas is easier when you choose the right base. The Mid-Strip maximizes walking access to famous resorts and shows, Downtown offers a cheaper retro alternative, and off-Strip stays trade convenience for quiet and value.
Mid-Strip
The Bellagio-to-Planet Hollywood corridor is the easiest first-timer base. You can walk between major resorts, restaurants and shows.
South Strip
MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and Luxor make sense for sports and concerts around T-Mobile Arena and Allegiant Stadium.
Downtown
Fremont Street is more compact, louder and generally less polished than the Strip, but it offers lower table minimums and a strong nightlife identity.
Off-Strip and hidden costs
Off-Strip works for quiet and value. Compare the full nightly total because resort fees, parking and rideshare can erase a cheap headline rate.
